I remember the day well, it was a Tuesday, mid-afternoon. I was in the car with my step-father when the news broke on the radio. Even though we were from two different generations, we both could connect with Elvis. I remember the public reaction to his death and I can remember one radio station playing nothing but Elvis songs for a few days.
When Michael Jackson died and the news was announced, I reflected back to the day Elvis died. The public reaction was very similar to the day Elvis died.
It was a sad ending to a brilliant career. Long live Elvis!
