Help Needed: Topps 2010 or UD Goudey

I need help decided which product to use for doing our 2010 Mets team set. Suggestions?

Last year my boys dipped their little 5-year old toes into the baseball card collecting pool. It was a lot of fun to see them get started and get excited to find our favorite teams in packs. I blogged about our fun with the 2009 Topps set.

I picked Topps because the design was nice, it didn't empty our wallets and I could find them at Target and Walmart.

Should I go with 2010 Topps this year? Paul's Random Stuff has already provided a great checklist for the Mets. I'm also interested in the Upper Deck Goudey collection since Pete Rose is in there.

What's your take?

TOPPS all the way. The base set is great, the insert sets are great (They could pull Gooden and Seaver Re-prints!), and there will be tons more Mets in Series 2 and Updates & Highlights.

I say Topps 2010. I just like the set. Plus you went with it least year.

Topps 2010--it's a surprisingly nice set and would be a more "classic" baseball card collecting experience for the kids than Goudey.

I am going off the map and say that I'd go with 2010 Upper Deck. Bigger set and more players from the Mets than any other set. Heard a rumor that Rose has a short-print card in UD1 if you are looking for a Rose card.

I'd go with Topps. The cards are out now (big plus in my book), you know what they look like and there aren't any shortprints that you have to worry about if you're trying to complete the basic 1-330 set.

I went with a Topps rack pack at Target. I think that's the way to go for us. If only I could enter the code they gave me!
